US Grade 9 - 12

Beginning French students will learn the French language through listening, reading, writing, and speaking. This class is for complete beginners with no prior French knowledge.

Level 1

Beginning French students will learn the French language through listening, reading, writing, & speaking. This class is for complete beginners with no prior French knowledge.

Level 3

French 3 students will continue to practice and learn vocabulary & grammar skills while practicing conversation & will be introduced to a full-immersion environment.

Level 2

For French students who have completed 1 year of French study. Students will learn vocabulary & grammar relating to a new theme each week, as well as practicing conversation & completing activities.

Level 4

French 4 students will practice speaking, listening, reading, & writing skills, in a full immersion environment, focusing on refining grammar & vocabulary usage.

SPRING 2024

Week of 3/31 - La Personalité (Personality)

  • Words for personality traits

  • Conjugation of ETRE

  • Making adjectives agree with the gender of the noun

Week of 4/7 - Les Verbes ER (ER Verbs)

  • Most common regular ER verbs

  • Conjugate regular “er” verbs using the present tense

Week of 4/14 - Le Petit Déjeuner (Breakfast)

  • Breakfast foods we like/dislike, what we usually eat for breakfast, and our favorites

  • “De” in relation to food and its special grammar rules

  • Conjugation of MANGER in the present tense.

Week of 4/21 - Le Déjeuner et Le Dîner (Lunch and Dinner)

  • Foods commonly eaten for lunch and dinner

  • Negative using "ne...pas"

Week of 4/28 - Les Boissons et Le Dessert (Drinks and Dessert)

  • Drinks and desserts

  • Conjugate BOIRE in the present tense

Week of 5/5 - Ma Famille (My Family)

  • Talk about our families, including immediate and extended family members and pets

  • Conjugate the irregular verb AVOIR in the present tense, and how to count from 1-10

  • Use vocabulary and grammar through speaking, reading, and writing activities

Week of 5/12 - La Chambre (The Bedroom)

  • Furniture and objects that can be found in the bedroom.

  • "Il y a" (there is/are) and colors
